Social Media Usage
Social Media Usage
2. As a minimum, and without in any way limiting the caution in paragraph 1, students and staff should closely observe the following guidelines:
Do not allow posts that may be considered to be offensive, derogatory or in poor taste.
Do not post copyrighted, questionably legal content, direct attacks on individuals or groups, or potentially libellous statements.
Do not use the logo of the Sydney College of Divinity, of St Andrew’s Greek Orthodox Theological College, or of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia for any kind of endorsement.
Do not release confidential or proprietary information related to the College, its staff, students, alumni, or any member of its community.
Do not use College-related social media channels to share your personal opinions or positions on controversial issues — please keep in mind that you are still acting on behalf of the College.
3. Language that is unlawful, obscene, defamatory, abusive, harassing, threatening, libellous, profane, infringing of intellectual property rights, invasive of privacy, or otherwise objectionable must be avoided at all times.
4. The College does not actively monitor student social media use and cannot control all of what is said on social media channels by its students, staff and alumni.
5. If a grievance is borne out of social media usage, and reported as such to the College’s Grievance Handler, then the policies and procedures of the Sydney College of Divinity will apply in accordance with the document entitled STUDENT GRIEVANCE POLICY AND PROCEDURES.
